Today’s Remodeling: Multi-Generational Home

In the past, some of our customers were telling us their key focus was to “age in place”. And, the reality according to U.S. Census Bureau data projects the over-65 population growing from 47 million in 2015 to 71 million by 2030, and most older people who answered a 2016 Home Advisor survey said they wanted to stay at home for as long as possible. Often, this means living with adult children.

We’ve seen this change in our customers’ demand as well in Omaha.

To accommodate the needs of different generations lifestyles, entertaining choices and adaptable space it’s more important then ever to use space wisely. Adapting the “movable wall” concept used extensively in hotel and commercial office space is one design trick that conquers this challenge. Our door systems can be used to separate living spaces that were once “open concept” to create individual spaces yet keep the openness for all to enjoy the natural light.

Modern door systems can be used to extend indoor space outdoor, without the expense of a full addition. Cover the outdoor living space with a roof or awning to give a new outdoor eating, lounging or reading space.

Whatever your design challenge is, Window Innovations is ready to help.
